I am an award-winning editor and journalist focusing on emerging and frontier markets, international development and environmental issues.

In 2008 I was the launch editor of the Financial Times Ltd’s highly acclaimed This is Africa magazine, which I edited until 2011. I have appeared as a pundit on international broadcast media, including Al Jazeera, the BBC World Service, CNBC and Wall Street Journal Digits Live, as well as spoken and chaired at events for the World Economic Forum, United Nations Development Programme and African Development Bank.

In 2011, I was named one of development organisation Devex’s 40-under-40 leaders in international development in the UK.

I have written for international media outlets including the Financial Times, the Wall Street Journal, Wired Magazine, the Guardian, the Africa Report and Forbes Africa.

In 2010 I won the British Society of Magazine Editors‘ Fiona McPherson New Editor of the Year award, as well as Journalist of the Year at the Diageo Africa Business Reporting Awards, for which I was also shortlisted in 2011.
